Toyo Brand Ambassador Tengku Djan emerged triumphant as the champion of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival Season 4 at Sepang International Circuit.

Tengku Djan As Super Sporting Class Champion

The win capped off an amazing achievement for Tengku Djan as this is the 3rd championship he has won out of 3 seasons’ participation, a clean sweep. It was certainly not an easy victory for him, as during the first race he had to start from 10th place on the grid due to a penalty received for an incident during qualifying. Nevertheless, he was able to claw his way back into third place for the first race in fine style. More success came his way as despite a 40kg ballast penalty, he still managed to muscle his way into 1st position and subsequently capping off his championship victory, 22 points ahead of 2nd place.

Witnessing the event, Toyo Tires Malaysia management were effusive in praise for the driver. “We are very happy for his success,” said Vice President of Toyo Tire Sales and Marketing Malaysia, Masaomi Kono.  “We feel that his championship is a great representation of the effort that Toyo Tires makes in providing consumers the best performing tyres. His championship was achieved with direct help from Toyo Tires, as the car he’s driving is equipped with the Proxes TR1 tyre that offers exceptional handling and grip,” he added.

Although the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival has come to an end, this is not the end of Tengku Djan’s racing exploits, as he is expected to take up the mantle at the Sepang 1000 KM Endurance Race. Toyo Tires wishes him all the best and will cheer him on to the finish line.
