Launch Tech (M) Sdn Bhd, one of the loyal exhibitors at Automechanika Kuala Lumpur, ran an impressive booth that served as a magnet for its clients and potential customers at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre recently.
General Manager Chia See Yong was at the show to introduce new products that were on display. Taking centre stage was the X-431 ADAS, the latest automotive ADAS camera and radar calibration equipment developed for independent garages and technicians.
“With the Launch professional diagnostic tools, you could simply do the job of calibrating camera- and radar-based ADAS systems. The ADAS software from Launch diagnostic device allows the operator to locate the camera calibration panels and radar-based ADAS reflector panel in the correct position to ensure the system calibration is carried out quickly and accurately.”
Suitable for body shops, glass service shops and professional workshops, he said the X-431 ADAS provided professional recalibration for the ADAS camera and radar when the sensors were removed, replaced or repaired.
Wide vehicle manufacturer coverage is provided, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Ford, Toyota, Perodua Myvi and the latest Aruz, just to name a few. Its modular structure enables vehicle specialists to configure the tool in the best way to suit their workshop needs. Among other features, he pointed out that the smart device provided an easily and precisely adjustable calibration frame to ensure the vehicle was correctly centred, while offering a multiple calibration function and wide range of vehicle-specific calibration panels.
The Launch X-931 touchless wheel aligner was another attraction. It could accurately measure wheel alignment parameters without any component touching the vehicle tyre or wheel rim. With its touchless laser and camera systems, he explained that the wheel rim would not be damaged and it saved time for mounting and demounting the wheel clamps.
“Our R&D team spent 5 years developing this new wheel aligner and this showed that we are making a comeback to the tyre servicing industry. It would be distributed through our existing dealer’s network.”
