Automechanika Shanghai 2025 set records with 253,691 visitors and 7,465 exhibitors, expanding key sectors and strengthening global industry collaboration.
The Fair’s Visitor Numbers Grew by 14 Per Cent
Automechanika Shanghai 2025, which was held from November 26 to 29, set two new records by welcoming 253,691 visitors from 190 countries and regions and hosting 7,465 companies from 44 countries and regions. The number of visitors showed a 14 per cent increase compared to the previous year’s event.
The 2025 edition continued to cement Automechanika Shanghai as a global hub for marketing, trade, information exchange, and education across the automotive value chain. Visitors represented every segment of the industry, with a noticeable rise in participation from OE and tier-one companies involved in technology, research, and procurement. Organisers noted that this shift underscored the trade fair’s growing role in supporting collaboration across the supply chain.
This year also marked the largest exhibitor turnout in the fair’s history, with companies from 44 countries and regions presenting new products, services, and technologies. Growth across several key sectors reflected the shifting dynamics of the automotive landscape.
The New Energy & Connectivity and Tyre & Wheel sectors expanded by 50 per cent, while Parts & Components recorded a 10 per cent increase in exhibition space. Other sectors, including Electrics & Electronics, Accessories, Customising, Repair & Diagnostics / Body & Paint, Tyres & Wheels, and Digital Solutions / Services, contributed to comprehensive coverage of the industry.
Meanwhile, around 40 per cent of all exhibitors showcased offerings related to the new energy vehicle market. Attendees responded positively to the wider presence of car brands and supply chain companies on the show floor, noting that their inclusion broadened sourcing opportunities across both traditional and next-generation vehicle categories.
Automechanika Shanghai 2025 also delivered its most extensive fringe programme to date, comprising 94 events and more than 450 speakers. Sessions explored how industrial chain integration, collaboration, and regulatory developments are shaping the current and future directions of the sector. Industry leaders convened at the International Automotive Industry Conference 2025, where discussions centred on long-term strategies and the outlook for global mobility.
Activities within Innovation4Mobility, Customising x Tech, and the Green Repair Area drew strong interest as platforms for learning, discussion, and demonstrations of the latest advancements in automotive technology and the aftermarket.
Automechanika Shanghai partnered with media outlets across China and other countries, such as Argentina, Australia, Austria, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, the UAE, the UK, and the US, to expand coverage and highlight industry trends.
Feedback from participants of this year’s event emphasised the value of the trade fair’s international networks and the breadth of industry resources on display. “The convergence greatly contributed to a successful industry gathering, with a refreshed sense of connection, exchange, and trade opportunities for the year ahead,” the organisers noted.
The next edition of Automechanika Shanghai, organised by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd and the China National Machinery Industry International Co Ltd (Sinomachint), will take place from December 2 to 5, 2026.
