Pan Han Yew is one of the founders of Hup Soon Auto Tyres Services. He set up his first tyre retail outlet in Taman Puchong Utama with his friends nine years ago and his second outlet in Taman Tasik Prima, Puchong two years ago.
He started his automotive industry career by working as a car mechanic and has since accumulated over 15 years of experience in the tyre service industry. His outlet in Taman Tasik Prima joined the Hankook Masters Malaysia family in 2017.
“I realized the quality of Hankook tyres is superb, their business direction is consistent and transparent. However, the most important factor is their fair pricing structure, which helps us to avoid price war” says Pan.
From his observation, he says that Hankook tyres are well-accepted by his customers.
“Branding is very important in the tyre industry. I can say that the Hankook brand is well-known, and Hankook Malaysia did pretty well in their marketing strategies.”
He adds that the company always updates them with new industry information such as a full list of tyre details, flexible reward system, technical support, sales and technical training & marketing tools from Hankook Malaysia.
“Their after sales service and support is very good, and that is an important benefit for us.”
His Hankook Masters outlet can accommodate eight cars at one time. Currently, they have eight technical service personnel in total and provide a full range of services including tyre changing, alignment, engine services etc.
Short term target: open new outlet
Pan says the company’s short-term target is to open another new outlet within the same area which makes it easier to support each outlet with their staff and tyre stocks.
“Although the industry is competitive and, coupled with the economic downturn, will definitely affect purchasing power, I can see more and more cars on the road. As such, I can see the huge potential in the tyre industry,” he concluded.
